LAMB OF GOD Drummer: 'Japan Was Insane!'
November 2, 2006LAMB OF GOD drummer Chris Adler has issued the following update:
"Japan was insane. We had never been so we didn't know what to expect and it was fucking nuts. Played to over 10,000 people and blew the place up. I watched a few of the bands before us and it was cool, but the whole vibe changed when we went on. People flying everywhere — they were ready for the heavy stuff!!! We took a train into Tokyo and gawked at the sights. How much more out of place can you be than five stinky rednecks in Tokyo!?!?!?!? Crazy.
"Australia was beautiful. We had always heard good things, but it's so expensive just to get there that it made it difficulty in the past just to play a show. Finally — we made it. Three amazing shows with our friends in KILLSWITCH ENGAGE and UNEARTH. Lots of drinking and partying with the locals. A big highlight was that we took a speedboat out into Sydney harbor right by the Opera house — totally amazing. Our label rep there arranged a private tour of the local zoo where we went and hung out with koalas and kangaroos for a few hours. The shows were as good as any we've had — nice midsize venues — not too big, not too small. Perfect mix of energy and power. Can't wait to get back — also can't wait to give up the details on our spring tour."
LAMB OF GOD is rumored to be planning a U.S. tour with TRIVIUM in February/March. The band's latest CD, "Sacrament", debuted at No. 8 on The Billboard 200 chart, with sales of more than 62,000. The CD has shifted a total of 143,000 copies in the United States in the first 10 weeks of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
